Book: The noble experyence of the vertuous handy warke of surgeri, practysyd [and] compyled by the moost experte mayster Iherome of Bruynswyke, borne in Straesborowe in Almayne ca. 1525
Notes: This is an early depiction of the "Wound Man," which was meant to represent the many ways someone could be wounded, thereby requiring the treatments prescribed. See Block 6 for an earlier depiction. Brunschwig's book has a woodcut very similar to this one. An example from his book is below:
Here is a copy of the print thought to be from 1497. Note how it was clear that this print was made from two separate woodcuts!
