Notes: This block was used for the Shephard's Handbook, 1523.  The book talked about issues of importance to shephards, such as the right season to bleed people! This is a very similar engraving to the one Seitz used in his book, Eyn nutzlicher Tractat von der aderlaß ca 1520, showing a regal scene of bloodletting. This engraving is a bit more detailed than Seitz. The Seitz image was used on the cover of "Bloodletting Instruments in the National Museum of History and Technology" Smithsonian Institution Press, 1979.
