How to find values for old medical
books. If you are trying to determine the value of a Civil War or
earlier medical text books, surgical manuals, anatomy books, first check
on www.abebooks.com , if you are
unable to find exactly the book or version you are looking for there,
then try www.alibris.com .
Other sources are
www.bookfinder.com and
http://www.biblio.com/booksellers/233/Civil_War_Bookdealers.html .
Under no circumstances should you
accept the offer of some guy with a web site who just wants to pay you
nothing for your medical book and then turn around and sell it to a collector
(like me) for
ten times what he paid you. Also keep an eye on the books section
of www.eBay.com for
what similar books are selling for in the antiquarian books section or
in the Civil War sections.
