Expanded Photos of Cased Surgical Sets

Amputation and Trephination Set by Capron, Paris ca 1780.

This ebony handled surgical set is from the last quarter of the 18th century. Made by Capron, Paris. This firm was in business well into the 19th century. The decorative neurosurgical instruments and heavy amputation saw with downturned handle point to an early date for this large set.  Note the large sturdy tourniquet.
